2008 Drag Racing!
Rules:
1. All drivers are required to have helmets, see me if you need a loaner.
2. All cars must have required safety equipment such as seat belts and must meet NHRA requirements.
3. You are allowed to run any D.O.T. approved tires which means stock street tires, drag radials, and any D.O.T. Slicks!
4. If you are running any superchargers, or faster then 11.99 or 10.99 E.T.’s then you will be required to follow the LVMS and NHRA rules please see Matt Whetton for a copy.
5. All cars will need to pass tech inspection, Helmets, Belts stock, or five point harness, you will be asked what mod’s have been done to your car or if it’s stock.
6. You must have a valid driver’s license.
7. Event Chair person is the final say. In the event of a technical or weather problem he decides whether or not the group will run.
8. Please be safe. Unsafe driving or speeding in the pits is not acceptable.
Fees:
Fees are a total of $35.00 to race, $25.00 at the gate for entrance and tech, and $10.00 to race, which you’ll pay to a HNV club representative. If you do not pay the extra $10 you will not be able to run with our group. We will be awarding trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and best reaction time, there will also be an award for Best Effort, so bring your Corvette! And give it your best shot! We are running E.T. so it’s not always the fastest car that wins!

How to join us:
To participate, go to the Strips box office.. Tell the people there you’re with Hot Nevada Vettes and you’ll receive the special price of $25. Gates open at 3:00 pm, practice runs start at 5:00pm, and racing starts at 6:00pm. If you have never done this before try and arrive at 5:00pm for some instructions and a ride along.
Directions:
Take the I-15 freeway south exit on LVMS speedway ramp, turn right on to Speedway Blvd. and drive straight passing the Admin Building on your right, it will also say Gift Shop on top of the building , then take the next left hand turn, follow the fence line until you reach the Box Office. Hot Nevada Vettes will be meeting at the corner of the fenced staging & tech inspection area.
Points for the 2008 Season
Points will run all season long until the end of the year, at which time we will be awarding trophy’s for the overall Winners!
Each car and driver will get 10 points for attending and passing tech inspection, you then must sign in at the Hot Nevada Vettes pit area.
Each driver will get 5 more points for every official pass,
If you get knocked out you can still receive 2 points for each un-official pass by staying to the end of the event, this is where the best effort category will come into play along with your E.T. time slips.
You must show your time slip to the recorder after each run! To get credit for your points.
1st place will receive 10 points
2nd place will receive 6 points
3rd will receive 4 points
Best reaction time 4 points, so get out there and practice!
Best effort will receive 4 points
